KPH Speed & Navigation

Featured Replies

It looks to me as if I can't have 'KPH' in the Maxidot and use the navigation system?

Any attempt to change the Maxidot display results in the question popping up, 'do you want to stop navigation?'.

Am I missing something obvious here or do I need to stick some markers on the speedo?

Not sure if this answers your question but if you look at Vehicle, Settings, Units you can change most things to metric.

Yes, I can make the change the MPH to KPH but, unless I'm misunderstanding something here, I can't use the Sat Nav to navigate and have the speed displayed between the dials?

I'm happy to have the 'voice' give me directions without the need for a little diagram being drawn on the screen behind the steering wheel.......................Looking like I should have spent the extra £400 and had the digital dash!

Speed is displayed as part of Driving Data, the navigation directions as part of Navigation, and, yes, it is one or the other depending on what you want to see.

I usually display speed between the dials. If you select Split Screen on the home screen of the Columbus, then one of the three navigation options available gives details of then next two or three manoeuvres (distances etc), and more detailed information when you get to junctions (such as road signs) which I find particularly useful.

Hope this helps.

I've only got the Amunsden, I'll look into that spit screen, see if it's possible......

Mine is the same, I either get to show the speed between the dials when not navigating but when I am I only get the option to cancel navigation. I've not had the car that long though so possibly need to look into the options on the Columbus. If I recall correctly this may have been the same in my Octavia VRs some time ago.

I wouldn't use the Sat Nav as the turn-by-turn directions meant that I couldn't display the digital speedo. After hours trawling through the manual I found that you can override the turn-by-turn display by pressing the area to the right of the scroll wheel.

The top icon to the left of the scroll wheel allows you to toggle between cruise control and speed limiter assuming the switch on the left hand stalk is turned on.

I'll give that a try next time KaroqKent. Thanks.

Neil, you are a star.....many thanks indeed. 👍

I toggle between digital Speed & Turn by Turn whenever I need to using the View button on the steering wheel. .

The View button takes you back to the previous screen so as long as the previous thing you displayed before using the Sat Nav was the digital Speed then you can swap between them at will.
