A few days ago all control buttons on the steering wheel on my Superb 2014 stopped working and the airbag light came on as well. Indicator and wiper levers work normally.

Has anyone had a similar problem and is there an easy, inexpensive way of sorting this out? I have checked the fuses and they all seem good...

Seems likely it'll either be the clock spring (squib) or the wiring in the steering wheel.

 

Check for fault codes using VCDS or similar, then inspect both and replace if necessary

Overview of a repair DONT TEST THE AIRBAG WITH A METER FOR RESISTANCE 9V battery in the meter will set it off. Do all checks on the car side once the bag is disconnected and stored on a mat (won’t scratch the bag) under the car (so if it goes off, you have protection. Lots of energy stored in the unit.

Follow up with some interesting points you may not be aware of:

 

 

The steering wheel centre bolt needs to be replaced once undone if you follow factory recommendations in ELSA.

Thanks for the info guys, I think this is a job for a Skoda mechanic and by the sound of it its going to cost an arm and a leg... But I will try to see if I can get the fault codes read to see what it says. Haven´t been home since I parked the car with the fault a few weeks ago. Maybe  it has miraculously fixed it self by now 🙂

Where are you based? A local member might be able to do a scan for you to give some clues.
