What is this?...

Featured Replies

This was sitting in the footwell this morning.

It's VAG branded, so clearly from the car.

Anyone know where it came from and why it's not where it should be?

does it have a product number on it? be worth googling it

You're not alone.

Bit worrying if it is really a brake pedal component & several of them have come loose…..

It's part 22 on this link:
https://nemigaparts.com/cat_spares/etka/volkswagen/goe/774/721700/

Some sort of securing ring.

Part #5Q2 721 431

On another forum:

"They [Dealers] agreed that it is the locking thread from the clutch pedal. "

Sounds like something that should probably be fixed before I drive too far...

I can see how that could work. Maybe needs to be replaced with a dab of low strength Loctite or  nail varnish or paint to prevent it unscrewing again..
