Engine overheating problem

Featured Replies

I have a 2015 L&K Superb 2.0 TDI (190). Having a now regular engine overheating issue. There is no coolant leak and all levels are fine. I have had a friendly mechanic check the diagnostics and all seems fine.

There are 59,200 miles on the clock (50k are mine without problem) and the car has been regularly serviced.

Every so often, now weekly(!), the engine temp rockets to 130°C and I get an instruction to stop the car - which I do and let the engine cool. Sometimes, if I rev into the +5,000 RPM red area, the temperature plummets back to what I would class as normal.

I hear that the water pump can be the issue?

Anyone else suffer the same issue or aware of any problems that may cause this. Grateful for any advice!!

Many years ago, the thermostat was the first thing to look at. Do modern cars still have thermostats?

There must still be a thermostat and that is what I would look for.

Do you have a five year warranty?

Three years. Just three months left. Never had a problem with mine, other than a warranty replacement of the door trim on the off-side passenger door.
