Moved to correct section.

Is it new mate. I traded my mk3 for a superb sportline but the 190 4x4 diesel. When I got mine the haldex clutch pack was buggered with 30k miles on. All replaced under warrantee but took them 3 months because the replace everything else first. When you test drive it make sure the front wheels don’t spin or tramp when you give it some beans

I have an ‘18 280 hatch and so far no real issues apart from the usual minor trim rattles and white worm developing on the diamond cut part of the Vega alloys (replaced under warranty, without a fuss),

Mechanically, it’s been fine.

What mileage/spec is yours @VelocityVinnie? Perhaps there might be specific issues on certain options that people can advise on, etc.

Dont forget to check for the umbrellas in front passenger and driver doors and ice scraper in the fuel filler hatch.

Then just scrutinise every interior panel/fixture and give the whole exterior a good once over. A common complaint is dealers not prep’ing cars to a satisfactory standard and/or fixing obviously broken/damaged trim.

All worse case scenario though. It’s an awesome car and the engine is a gem. Good luck with the pick up and don’t forget to post some pics!

Thanks Peeps.

Mines and ex directors car, in Black Magic.

It will be year old in November, and done just under 9k.

Yep it drives great, no noises, and the Haldex seems fine....i did boot it haha.

Strangely the car is quick, but it does not feel as brutual as my stage 2 Octavia Petrol was.

Think its the DSG smoothing the acceleration out.

Yes all umbrellas and scraper there.

What shocked me the most, was how underwelmed by the boot i was. I know superbs are known for space, but compared to my Octavia, there was not much in it. Due to it being quite narrow, and seats not going flat.

They need to make ISO Fix an option, rather than standard...i want to carry load, not bleeding kids haha.

With the boot, check if you have the vario floor and if it is up or down - that can make a difference.  That said, i agree with the boot space not being super massive compared to the Octavia. Most of the extra space in the Superb seems to be in the rear seats rather than the boot. Suits me as I have tall children 🙂

A pedal box will make the acceleration much more snappy and remove that initial dead spot.

Well worth it IME.

I came from a MY11 mk2 Octavia RS TSi with Stg 2+ to my Superb 220 now.

Very very happy.

As u said, the Superb is not brutal like the RS.

The Superb is more GT like.

I am really sad to see the Octo go, it was a great car, and was a real head turner.

I am looking forward to getting out of warranty and putting a little bit of my own flair into the superb, but im gonna keep it a sleeper, which was the biggest draw for me.

Oh and my car does not have varrible boot floor, which i did not want anyway.

Supose ill just have to play with the way i pack the boot at make it work. But yes rear leg room seems to have been favoured rather than the boot........maybe they should have made the rear bench slideable, to give options.
