Suggestions needed for Eibach

Featured Replies

Hey guys, hope you're doing well.

I've changed my OE struts to OE replacement struts from Sachs. The older ones on the front went kaput. Since I opted for OE replacement ones, can I put lowering springs from Eibach?

Eibach has separate springs for 2wd and 4wd. Front/rear axle load is rated at 1150/1100kg for 2wd and 1250/1200 for 4wd respectively.

Every opinion counts (positive or negative)

Car in question is a 2.0tdi 4x4, GC 180mm

Thanks

Have you asked Eibach themselves, would have thought the manufacturer would know best.

Yes, they're compatible. Obviously you'll need the 4WD version from Eibach for your car.

As you've already noticed, the spring rates are different

I'm just skeptical because I don't have OE struts but OE replacement ones

OK, I can understand that. But the replacement units fit into the same space, and mount to the same points. They're OE equivalent and the main thing is that they're the right diameter to fit to the top mount. Which they clearly are, as you've already fitted them :)

Eibach springs will match and work with many different shock absorber/dampeners. I've used them with Bilstein and Koni shocks on a Skoda, for example.
