Heated seats switcheroo

Featured Replies

Hello all,

I've got a 2004 Skoda Fabia Mk1 Classic, and I've just got my hands on some heated seats from the Mk1 Elegance, I've heard of people taking the element out, but is there a way of swapping out the seat along with the wiring loom? If so, what would I need to do in terms of hooking it up to the alternator, and is there pre existing cable?

(My car doesn't come with standard heated seats fyi)

Thanks,

Sam

No pre existing wiring in the vehicle.

There is a retrofitting thread somewhere on here. Requires wiring up to the switches and the central electrics control unit.

@Tech1e where is the central electrics control unit?

What Techie is tactfully trying to tell you is that it's a tricky and time consuming conversion and you'll need to buy a lot more stuff yet before you can warm your posterior, there's also a fair chance that the drivers seat element doesn't even work.

Have you tested them yet?

Thanks everyone for your advice, I've gotten the switches and wiring loom, both heating elements work. I've taken the fuse too, it's just a matter of plugging it back in
