Rear bumper metal protection

Featured Replies

Hello everybody,

I was considering installing one of those metal pretectors on the rear bumper of my superb estate, to avoid all the damage that comes from constant loading and unloading of backpacks, grocery bags, suitases, etc. Thing is, i never saw a superb with that installed, not live at least, only on photos, and was wondering if they really look OK. Someting like this: https://www.ebay.de/itm/Premium-Edelstahl-Ladekantenschutz-Schutz-Skoda-Superb-III-3V-Kombi-2015-/132987349387

Perhaps get that section of the bumper clear-wrapped?

Yes they look ok. I have a very shiny one on mine. Maybe some pics on the forums somewhere. It compliments the red and is also starting to get a fair amount of scratches now so it's doing the job.

Edited to say  : Mine doesnt have the ridges. Had one like that on my old Scout but prefer the smooth finish on the Superb.

Where did you get yours? Does it cover over the edge of the bumper or just the top? I find the edge gets a lot of abuse... I would rather buy in Germany because they usually have cheap/free shipping within the country and my brother will drive down to Portugal so he can bring it over. I sort of like the ridges but see it fitting better on cars with raised suspension/SUVs...

Thanks for your replies. I think I'm going to go with the polished stainless steel one... There's chromed trim around the car but none of it in the back, so it might fit well there.

You can just see mine here. A bit grubby in this picture I'm afraid...

Looks really nice. Confirms that that's what I want. Thank!

Here is a better view of the one I've chosen (pics also borrowed on superskoda website):

I still think it looks like an add on. Wrapping would look a lot better.

Nice doggy set up there CB

I'd like something similar but our Vizsla hates my car....loathes it in fact.  So the wife gets all the smell/doghairs and rear window smudges

😁 Thanks! It works well for us and relieves my anxiety about the ruddy powered tailgate trapping a head / tail / leg! It's a comfortable place for the pooches to be, and in suitable circumstances I can leave the boot lid up and lock the cage if I'm doing something else nearby.

Wonder why your Vizsla doesn't like your car? Maybe too much space? I think some dogs feel more secure in a smaller space when being driven.

Sorry bit late but here's  a pic of mine ...

@Nick_H Woowww !!! How gorgeous in Corrida Red 😍🤩👍!!! A very rare configuration with 280 TSI engine ! Much more in phase with my personal tastes than Dragon Green...

The flat rear bumper protection is nice too ;) !

Cheers. Mrs chose the colour as she has much better taste than me :D Given the choice I would have had it the same colour as my old tiv...
