Recommend Car Wax/Cleaning products for Dash/Interior

Featured Replies

Hi! Can anyone suggest a good long lasting wax for my Candy White Skoda Yeti? Also, any good cleaning product (s) for the dash and leather seats? Thanks!

I hoover my seats and then use a damp cloth to remove muck. If the steering wheel is getting greasy and shiny I have used a cloth just slightly dampened with glass cleaner and it recovers the new satin look.

My  Candy White Yeti was 4year old when I clayed it and then used Armorall Shield, it's  really easy to use. supposed to last about 12 months.  I've not seen a white car as shiny as mine. 😎

There’s a detailing section I thought.

Is the Armorall Shield a silicon product?.

I’ve been wondering if the CRC silicon ‘dry lube’ would do it as a long term shine......though I can imagine what that would mean for those who respray after a prang, but would the same apply to Shield?.

I don't know if its silicon. Originally I tried a free sample of it which was attached to a car magazine.

I use a damp cloth on the dash board, as I do not like it shiny.

The seats get wiped over with the Autoglym Leather Cleaner that came with the car.
Outside gets a plain wash with some detergent. At the moment it is the bottles I got on WRGB last time

Suggest you have a look at Autoexpress website, they do tests on car products and give reasoned views on the results. In terms of long pasting wax Bilt-Hamber double speed-wax is their current favourite and I can support that because I have used it for more than a year with excellent results. Easy to apply and one pot lasts ages, it also comes with an applicator and polishing cloth. I would suggest you polish your car first with a polish to remove minor marks, swirls etc before applying the Belt Hammer wax which is really a long lasting  protective coat rather than a polish.

For leather seats I use Angelwax leather which works fine and is easy to use. I have used several leather cleaners and there doesn’t seem to be much difference between the top makes - all worked fine, but again Autoexpress have tested several, so have a look.

Welcome to the 'rabbit hole' that is car cleaning!

As others have mentioned there is a Car Cleaning section in Briskoda, but you may wish to lose a few hours on this site;
