Octavia III 2015 Elegance and Maxi Dot

Featured Replies

I just git this car and was playing around with the Maxi Dot diplay (buttons for it is on the right arm, no buttons on steering wheel).

I have a few questions about this display:

1. Right now the language is Norwegian. I want to set it to English. How can I do that?

2. Some of the options doesnt work as I think they should. Actually only the screen with fuel options seems to work.

There is some China head unit in it with navigation and other stuff. I can see that originally it was a Swing radio. I believe that is why the Maxi Dot doesnt show what if should. Am I right?

Can the Maxi Dot in some way be fixed to show what it showed originally when the Swing radio was installed?

Sounds like a different steering wheel or controls. My Elegance has steering wheel controls which controls the maxi dot.

Do you have any photos?

I think all UK Elegance spec did, I think pre-FL S/SE in the UK missed out on the steering wheel controls, presumably they had the stalk instead.

I guess OP has the attached controls.

I don't have any particular knowledge, but it does appear to be referencing displaying functions of the Swing unit specifically.

Hmmmm so you have Chinese upgrade to include Sat Nav from the original most basic model, I hope you brought this car cheap.

To get all the options on the maxi dot you are going need to upgrade the system again, there is no way of knowing exactly what your current setup is capable of, unless

You live near or can easily get to Wales, @SashaGrace is a genius with these things but, AFAIK hasn't strayed from the OEM kit

Yes I am using the controls that uchuff mentions.

@themanwithnoaim I am not changing the head unit as I want the Navigation way more than I want these controls to work.

If noone know how this can be done this with the existing setup then too bad.

Hvis ingen vet hvordan dette kan gjøres med det eksisterende oppsettet, så synd.

As it mentions being Swing specific functions I think it's all driven by the head unit, so would only be able to display something with a compatible head unit.
