00470 error

Hello, everyone!

I tested my SO2 FL a few moments ago and I found an error I don't know how to fix.

I must tell you I activated the whipe function of the instrument cluster and before it no such error had appeared.

I took a picture of the log and post it here.

Anyone?

I found something about the radio and some function of it which, when active, may generate this error. I need some more looking into it.

No battery drain in my case.

Still hoping someone fixes this error in the past and won't mind sharing the solution.

It's probably a bad wire or connection.

CAN bus uses a twisted pair of wires, both are used to send the same information but use opposite signals. That error suggests the comfort CAN bus has a fault on one of the two wires so is only using one wire to communicate.

Given its intermittent, I'd clear it and see if it comes back.

If it does come back, post a full autoscan rather than just a picture 🙂

My car's comfort bus has been in single wire since before I bought the car four years ago. So far it has not caused any problem.

Unless it becomes a nuisance I will ignore it. Probably caused by a poor connection in a connector behind the dashboard.

When I delete the error it soon comes back, but ignore it. its not critical.

I wouldn't like that. I like the log to be clear.

So, like I wrote above, I found something about a stereo function which if active, generates, or may generate such an error. Anything about this?

I found this: "As an update to others who may have this problem: It was the wiring harness in the door. Specifically, inside the accordion boot between the A pillar and the door the wiring had been cut. We had a problem with this harness before and the VW dealer supposedly had replaced it. Turns out he had only "repaired" it, splicing a butt connector in inside the boot. Yes, seriously. Anyway, I did a better repair and now it appears to be entering sleep mode and the code has disappeared" source.

I wonder if it is possible for a 2012 car. But I am going to check it out. It is easy enough.

One more thing: a month ago, I replaced the left front door switch, but I checked the car for errors, and found none related to it, after completing the replacement. Weird. I am also thinking about that TPI function (or something similar).

So, I deleted the error, drove about 40 kilometers, no error whatsoever. I don't like this abracadrabra error situation.

I also saved a log. If anyone wants to see it, I will upload it.

Comfort canbus is in single wire mode.

Look in the MBV of gateway and see if the network is down and on what side. Then it’s a case of checking units and wiring harnesses for breakages.

Also, I replaced the door switch two weeks or so ago. No error right after that.

Looking in the live data from the car will tell you the connectivity of the CAN network.
