Please let me tell you one thing about myself -- I am a non technical person with zero knowledge of car machinery.

 

I bought Octavia 2011, 1.6 litre Petrol MPI, 102 BHP last year in Feb (2018) with 88200 Miles on it. This car run on LPG as well with UK gov. certified installer. With in few months of buying it, it start showing engine light and I was told to change Lambda senor. Everything was sorted out and I drove the car for a year with no issue on both petrol and lpg.

 

From past 2 months, this engine light along with traction control light. Most of the time (99%) both come together. I started feeling lack of power / less pickup / jerk. I visited private garage they suggested to change sprak plugs (suitable for LPG conversion) and additionally I asked to change timing belt and water pump as Skoda recommend to change at 90000 mile, I spend reasonable good money, hoping it would solve the issue. But I starts getting same issue again. I pretty sure that there is no fault in the engine and it is related to some sensor. My car starts normal and runs fine, yes probably in every 50-80 miles driving, this jerk / misfire comes and goes with engine light along with traction control light. Traction light goes off immediately once I turn off and turn on the engine and Engine light some times goes and some times stay there. Now it is staying (seems) permanently.  I am not sure how to fix this issue. Error code I got

 

U1028 -- Steering column electronics control module: read out DTC  (this error code does not clear out, while rest disappear after reset)

 

P1647 -- checking coding/version of : control modules in drivetrain

 

P1348 -- ignition output 1 : open circuit

 

P2237 -- O2 sensor positive current control circuit bank 1 sensor 1 : open

 

P0130 -- O2 sensor Circ., Bank 1 sensor 1 : mulfunction

 

P0171 -- Fuel Trim bank1 : system too lean

 

P0301 -- cyl 1: misfire detected

 

P0304 -- cyl 4 : misfire detected

 

P0300 -- random/multiple cylinder  : misfire detected

 

P1212 -- cylinder shut-off, bank 1

 

I do not have any clue about car machinery how does it work and what are these error code. All the error codes, I have provided were given to me by my garage. That garage is saying these error are related to software or some thing else not related to engine and hence he can not fix it.

 

Please help me how to fix these errors or if anyone else has faced this type of issue. Any help here would be much appreciated.

Certainly not software. 

 

Take it somewhere competent. Looking like a coil pack issue at first glance with maybe an associated wiring issue.

 

Need to know what fault code is in the steering column ECU, that won’t clear as you aren’t clearing it at the source.

I can go ask about fault code is in the steering column ECU but garage told me U1028.  Also, the same garage changed coil pack in other car (renault) 6 months back, so I guess if there is a issue with ignition coil pack, he would have change it. I will go and double check with him and as you are suggesting, I will go with some other garage as well.

 

any other opinion or suggestion.

 

Fault 1 - misfire

Fault 2 - Lambda probe 1 electrical concern

 

These two issues need to be investigated first. No assumptions made just pure diagnostic process.
