Rear caliper seal weeping oil

Featured Replies

Got new rear discs and pads fitted today (No more rusty, noisy OEM junk!).  My mechanic highlighted that one of the rear calipers was slight misting, weeping oil from the piston.  He said it was not serious yet but may get worse.  Does any have a part number for a rear caliper, or any advice on how best to proceed?

Surely you change the seal rather than the caliper . . . . . . . . .

Depends if you have the equipment and know how to strip down the motor on the caliper and set it back up again.

Mechanic said he'd seen this on a number of Passats, Iwas surprised to see it on such a young superb. He thought the caliper was around €300.
