2017 6-speed dsg vibrations with cold engine.

Featured Replies

Heads up:

Brought my 2017 car in for service 7 days before end of warranty. Mentioned the car had light vibrations when idle and static.

Turns out there  is a known issue with some bolts in de gearbox leaking oil. The leaking oil somehow causes these vibrations. Had nothing to do with cold engine. But with oil leaking slowly overnight. Once the oil is  burnt off  the vibration stops. The gearbox needs to be removed to fix it. Will al be replaced under warranty.

If it is Skoda / VW that the issue is know by, and you reported it to a Main Dealership with Trained and Qualified staff that should also know then yes you reported it within the Warranty.

Who told you it was known, was it the dealership staff / technician?

The dealership sevice manager. Even showed me pictures of the bolts.

Is there a Known Service Bulletin number for this recovery action ? 🤔

My 206kw have got some vibration problem. When idle in drive. But it doesn't go away. Even when the car is warm. So not sure if it's the same or not. They are trying to fix it under warranty at the moment with replacing clutch and flywheel. They tried to reset DSG first but it didn't work. I am not sure if your vibration is a known issue or not as Skoda said they never had any case of vibration like mine. So they are pretty much eliminating things at the moment.

The car went in for the work yesterday and today. The flywheel was also replaced. Had to much axial play. This is a car with 26000 km.

Not impressed, altough everything was done under warranty.

Mine went in a few weeks ago and had the clutch and flywheel replaced. Mine only done 6000km. But don't think they fixed the vibration problem. Need to drive a bit longer to see.
