256mm brakes...

Featured Replies

The brakes on my Fabia are 256mm, the only ones ECP can offer me are Pagid ones.

Are these going to be ok/last longer than 12 months. I probably won’t have the car this time next year, but if I do, I don’t want to be replacing the brakes for the third year running

I can't comment on how long they'll last without knowing your driving style and annual mileage, but a new pair of discs should survive a couple of pad changes before needing replacing and even decent pads are pretty cheap. Really cheap pads are very soft and don't last.

Alas the pads and discs need changing. Suspect previous garage has put rubbish ones on. I drive about 10k a year, and have never had new brakes within a year before.

Pagid have always been fine for me and lasted well.

Thanks I will order them.

Agreed; brakes should last longer than 12 months, unless you have a lot of rust on the discs themselves.

It was picked up on the MoT they had a problem (can’t remember what, but I asked on here and it was a case of new discs and pads required).

being brakes I want it fixed; as mentioned in my other posts I will probably have to sell the car within the year. The work will need doing before then, and I’d rather get it done sooner rather than later, and get some benefit out of it

Same here. Had Pagid front discs and pads on my MPI for five years now and they are still in good condition.
