One problem

Any mods

and the insurance is void

Are you not referring to GAP insurance okeh?

Me too' date=' October the 1st :o

Lets see what happens eh? Might all work out ok but we'll see.

The only issue I have now is I have a new mod to declare, by contacting them tomorrow will they tell me they can't insure me with anymore mods than what is currently declared so I have to remove what i've put on (udder mod)[/quote']

I doubt they will know what it is anyway  I'm sure if it doesn't effect the performance (i.e. give more power) then they should be ok, they've not once said no to any of my tinkering

I think so

I bought it when i bought the car(slick salesman:) )

I got the paperwork through the post the other day and noticed the no mods clause:finger:

That's weird as I'm pretty sure Chris Knott is underwritten by Highways Insurance (at least my policy was last year when I had the Fabia)!

Chris

you're not wrong, come to think of it. my new CK-brokered policy is with highway...weird.

oh, and Close Premium Finance handle the money side of it - and they're a bunch of knuts...

Close premium finance also do the money side of it for my Greenlight policy

GAP insurance just covers the difference between the outstanding finance owing on the car and the vehicles value.

For example, you get a loan for

Christ on a bike!

It looks like the late '80s all over again, with there uninsurable XR3i's, RS-turbos, etc.

Insurers will insure the car, they just don't want modifications because they realise a group 9 insurance car can very quickly become as fast as a group 16 insurance car for pennies.

Yeah.... this whole thing is making me think twice about a remap :( I think I may go fot he Eibach springs, Cupra air intake and filter only, at least most insurance companies are happy with these mods

Oh come on Roger, you're only as old as you feel, don't be so harsh on yourself just because you're over 60!!!:D lol

J/k

Your insurance seems very high though, for your age... I am with NU and got quoted 266 fully comp - I am 31 years old. The car is stock, but you said you got quoted 540 before the remap?

Edit: I see you are from Bicester, we might be neighbours when I move back to the UK later this year ;)
