Drivers side window kaput!

Featured Replies

Yesterday when I pressed switch to lower drivers window it began behaving erratically,   e.g. going up and down and sticking half way at times. Tried it this morning, pressed switch and could 'hear'  it engage but window not moving now? All other windows appear to be fine.

Any advice appreciated.

To " @omnipeta " - Only disassemble the door will show the exact Problem. I suggest - the metal strings breaking and few plastic parts too 😞 If you have anytime the similar Problem - it is better to stop pushing the button at all. Every movement can brake expensive parts..

Just an update as to the cost etc...

I had this done at local garage as I know and trust them, mechanic showed me receipt for parts £133.00! (surprised me a bit) he showed me old/damaged unit. Labour was £60 which I feel is very reasonable.

Thought I'd post this as it might help others in future with similar issue.

I've had this car over 3 years and this is the first time I've 'had' to spend any money on it (not including usual maintenance items of course)
