As has been said above, it depends how old it was. If it was the latest one (E90/91) with 231bhp, it'd give your Octy a run for it's money.

If it was a standard 204bhp one, you'd beat it, eventually. Remapped, no.

If it was the 184bhp (pre- remap) one like I had, you'd wee all over it. Even remapped, it was slow compared to my Octy, which is why I sold the BMW and got another vRS - it was no contest.

The new 3litre diesels as in my X3 with the Piezo injectors are bloody awesome, though.
