Map Question

Featured Replies

Hi

I am new to Skoda having just bought a 16 plate superb. I want to update the maps and have been on the portal, purchased a 32 GB SD card and downloaded the maps, try to move to the SD card and it tells me there is not enough space. So I am doing another download and it is showing the the file will be nearly 60GB, is there something i am missing, or is there a away i can select the maps to download or is the video wrong telling me to get a 32GB card?? I can see there are no SD cards in the system itself  for updating. Any help  greatly appreciated appreciated

Brian

I recently updated my maps using a 32 gb SD card and it worked first time with no problems.

Did you format the SD card before you tried downloading the maps onto it?  I ran the full format and not the quick one to ensure the card was as clean as possible.  I assume you didn't format the card before trying the second time if it's saying it'll be nearly 60 gb?

Downloaded files should be c25Gb, so something isn't right. Are you using windows or mac?

This thread may help.

Don't be deterred if it doesn't work first time. It will eventually. Good luck.

I have not formatted the card, i am first downloading to PC and then to card, the download does not give me the option of where to download it to so it is just going into downloads. Then when i try to copy onto sd card it says it is too big, i am now formatting the card and see what happens.

The file you download will be a zip file. On the PC it needs to be extracted - for PC there is an extraction tool (can't remember what mine is called, but it is something like zip7 on windows10). Then you can transfer the extracted folders to your SD card. Have a look at the thread I linked to or do a search. There are full instructions for windows and mac.
