Have recently purchased a 58plate octavia saloon VRS. Trophy blue and 100k. Interestingly after I purchased it and insured it I came across a facebook ad for my car. Where I found it had been revamped up to 272bhp. That explained the first time I put my foot down hard I realised I need to wear brown trousers.

I know and I went to upgrade the headunit to find a lot of money has been spent on amps and speakers. They had just but the stock headunit back in and left all the goodies

Depending what your previous car was having so much power in a front wheel drive car  just makes you feed the power in gradually rather than floor it so your driving skills will improve.

V6 touareg. So completely different. The skoda is like any other car until you press on. Love it though
