service

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,  I have done 5,688 miles in a year in my skoda superb MK1 , I Had  a full service on 17.8.19 , Do anyone recommend i have a full service again or just the oils changed,

Many Thanks in advance for advice

Do you mean the service was on the 17th August 2018 and not last month or am I missing something.

What was done at a 'Full Service'.

Was it Oil & Filter, Pollen / Cabin Filter, Fuel Filter or spark plugs changed, Air Filter replaced, Brake Fluid changed, Gear Box oil checked or changed, Coolant Replaced?

Or was it a Oil & Filter Service with look and see and report and not a lot done, ie a 'Main Dealers MAJOR SERVICE'.

Hi

Hi Roottootemoot,

My service book was stamped  full service but only the engine oil change box had a tick in it, So not sure exactly what they done, What should be done in your view, Thanks

If it was a Major Service it would be the stuff that shows in a Major Service, and that includes a body inspection for the Paint & Corrosion Warranty.

But then Plugs and Filters might not get changed or even checked, and brake fluid not changed and Coolant Strengty not tested.

You could only ask the place it was done what they concider a 'Full Service.'

If it was a BMW and it was A Big Service then all fluids could be changed, all bulbs replaced, all belts and a £1,500 or so bill.

People call different things different names, but not ticking off stuff does not seem like Fully Servicing a vehicle and keeping a record. Well not to me.

Some light bedtime reading for you 😁 see the attached PDF, at your low annual mileage I would replace on time interval rather than mileage.
