Octavia combi 4x4 2.0tdi CR 140hp misfire/ cut out at mid rev range/ torque

Featured Replies

Hi i have a 2012 octavia combi mk2 4x4 2.0cr tdi 140hp. At mid range rev (1300-1800 rpm) in any gear the car will intermitently misfire/ cutout, but if you drop a gear and drive her hard it doesnt do it. Or drive hard through that rev band. Only when your crusing along she arses about. But has increasingly got worse over the past months. There are days it never does it then day it does it from the minute shes started and drives till you stop. Doesnt matter if engine is hot / cold. Starts perfect everytime hot or cold. Prob also is i have NO DTCs or fault codes at all for when this happens or after it happens. Car is run on good diesel from maxol, bp. Serviced regular using filters an oil from TPS.  The car has had the VW emmissons recall done 1.5/2yrs ago (just programming). I have borrowed a solus edge to monitor sensors but cabt see anything obvious. Just worried it will wreck the flywheel and clutch from the excessive and bad misfires aswell. Anyone any ideas or known fixes?? TIA

Number 1 important question. What were you using to scan for fault codes, a generic OBDII reader or VCDS?

If the former there could well be fault codes that you are not seeing.

Only used snap-on solus and also used a delphi computer.

I will need to get it plugged into VCD
