Heated steering wheel people, I need your help please!

Featured Replies

I thought I’d pop this in here as more Superb’s are specified with this option. I am beginning the heated steering wheel retrofit on my Octavia and from research I think I have found the correct clock spring but I am just wondering if anyone who has a heated steering wheel could pop out and scan their Module 16 Steering Column and post up their part number for me please? I would be very grateful as I’ve found several other revisions that seem to have the correct number of pins and I wonder if any of those are compatible. Thanks in advance :)

My Superb, built December 2016 with heated steering wheel, lists the following for module 16:

Address 16: Steering wheel (J524) Labels:| 5Q0-953-549.clb
   Part No SW: 5Q0 953 521 LA HW: 5Q0 953 569 B

Thanks very much, that’s really helpful. I think it’s only the B revision models that are compatible with the heated wheel. That’s a bit of a pest as the only one I can find is from a Golf so no CC on the indicator stalk and apparently that’s different too!! This is turning out to be incredibly expensive 😂

Gloves are cheaper

Yeah but I want a heated wheel and I know it can be done so I just need to do it 😂 I can’t help myself I have a problem.

You don't have a problem, you'll manage to do it eventually!

I bought a Pandora security system for my Superb......

Extra encryption over the keyless system, anti hijack, warn away etc are merely all nice to haves. Basically I paid £1200 for remote start 😆
Getting in an already-toasty car in the morning is worth every penny, especially as I don't plan on changing the car in the next few years.

Btw it works with the heated seats and wheel... 🤐

I'm like this (but to a lesser extent) with the virtual cockpit.  I rushed my order through to beat the cut off for the 280PS (pre-GPF) engine before Skoda stopped taking orders, unfortunately this meant that the VC wasn't an option. The analog, off-white dials look dated IMO

Any chance of posting a guide?:) I quite like the sound of that.

It’s a retrofitting problem, can’t help myself. I’ll try my best to get it done, just got to make my decision on how much the wheel I’ve found is worth to me.

I'd say having exhaust flaps makes up for the lack of VC :)

I apologise. Hope your car has exhaust valves too and we can be good. Full disclosure, mine has exhaust valves with no VC. Yes it's worth it :)

It was fitted by Pandora. I looked at the kit he brought with him, I'd never be able to fit it myself, it's ridiculously complicated lol

If anyone knows which parts to obtain, apart from the obvious heated steering wheel can they let us have the list please. I’ve just moved from a Kia Optima with heated wheel and it’s one of the few items that I’m missing.
