I awoke on Saturday morning to an unexpected surprise.... my boot was open!   

 

No idea how long it had been open, but there it was!.  Thankfully it had not been raining, and I don't keep anything of value in the car overnight.

 

It's not happened before nor since.......  A tad disconcerting though!

 

Has this happened to anyone else?  

 

 

Almost everyone Mickey. Usually an unnoticed push of the (slightly raised) boot button on the key fob, often while it is in your  pocket. Managed to open mine once while jetwashing it. Not a mistake I will make again in a hurry...

Thing is though, I was in my kip and the keys were on the bedside table!  

 

Will keep an eye on this mysterious issue...

But probably at some point between you leaving the car, and before seeing the car again with the boot open, you had the key in your pocket. I had this problem a few times until I bought a small leather key holder off eBay, in which I now keep the key.

Yes happened to me last week, parked outside a customers front unit door, huge glass orientation, waited for contact, walked upstairs, meeting for 1 hour and then came back down and boot fully open.....No idea, key in pocket and quite a distance from car whole time.....😶

This happened to me this week. Same situation in that went out to car on the driveway in the morning and boot was half open.  It was definitely closed the evening before and the key was on a shelf away from pocket or inadvertent pressing of buttons all night.

Interesting that my boot was only half open - as if it had started to open and then stopped.

Same problem with the electric boot on my Kodiaq with the Kessy key, happened at work, came outside to a wide open boot! I’m pretty sure it must of been me pressing the same poorly designed raised boot key fob button, so you are not alone.
