Recently, while trying to make some new features work, a friend of mine made a firmware update for CAN Gateway (block 19).

And suddenly, I have an ability to tune "Engine Sound" in driving profiles. Obviously, that actually does nothing, but I guess that's a reference to Dynamic Sound Boost block from Kodiaq RS.

 

And I wonder, if it is possible to retrofit it? So far I haven't been able to find even any schematics or part numbers for it, only advertising material...

There are more people wanting to silence / remove it, than activate / install it, I reckon there won't be a shortage of owners willing to let you have their sound generator for free!

I've already found this, but it is: 1. way too expensive and 2. controlled separately form everything else

Well you’re SOL then. I doubt Cete Automotive’s retrofit kit will be remarkedly cheaper. 

 

Not sure what you mean by it being controlled separately, as the retrofit interfaces with the canbus IIRC.
