estate rear springs

Featured Replies

looking at doing a rear end refresh on my combi, it has towed in a former life and is a little saggy. will be using a pair of bilstein b6 shocks but what springs are best? are genuine suitable?

I am going to fit the Bilstein springs which go with my B6 rear shocks when it comes time to change mine. Normally I would only ever fit genuine parts, but Ive seen too many broken road springs let go.

This spring will match my setup: 2012 3T5 170CR 4x4

I would stay away from O.E. springs

My car is on the 4th pair of rears
First 3 being O.E.
Originals it came with were replaced at 55,000 under warranty
Second pair under extended warranty when I got it.
3rd I bought a full set that only had 6,000 miles as the guy had replaced full suspension to B12

I coated these with a light grade underseal paint to try and see if they would last longer🙄
The paint lasted longer but the  springs still broke at about 50,000
