Is the DQ250 historically more reliable or does it also have a myriad of potential bank account draining faults?

 

Beginning to think the idea of a Skoda is not the best way forward - Currently have a company Merc C200d with 106k miles ( all mine ) and drives as it did when it was I first got it 4yrs ago.

The DQ250 DSG is a 6 speed wet clutch box and much more reliable and smoother at low speeds. It must have proof of a 40k mile DSG oil change though or walk away.

 

The 2.0Tdi is also much nicer to drive and less boomy at motorway speeds than the 1.6.

Excellent, thanks for the information. I shall now limit my search to a 2.0Tdi with history of gearbox oil changes at 40k intervals.

 

 

The 2L TDI can be driven in a way to match the mpg of the 1.6 but my thrill for a bit power through the gears takes overall mixed driving to mid 50's. It's more of a relaxed drive, pulling really well low down in the gears (manual box). I daresay if I tried out a Vrs I'd want one. I am tempted!
