Just bought a new Octavia Estate with panoramic sunroof. I very often use the “tilt” function to let fresh air in without turbulence. The problem is, when I leave the car, I just press the keyfob to lock doors, and forget the roof is tilted. One day I will surely experience the tilted roof the hard way with a lot of water in the cabin🤪.

 

I have bought VCDS but I Cant seem to find a mod to close the tilted roof by locking the doors with the keyfob. I am aware of the “close roof on rain” and the comfort closing by a very long press on the keyfob, but that is not what I am looking for.

 

I just want the roof to close every time I lock the door. Is it possible?

I'm a bit confused.  If there is a "close roof on rain" setting, why don't you use it?

A long press to close a roof is no hardship. Many of us have used variants of manual closing sunroofs and not forgotten to close them. In the days of manual everything we checked cars before departing to see if the doors had all been locked, the windows were open or the lights were on. 

Confused, how? Just because there is a manual option, it does not change my wish for a “lock Car and close sunroof”.

I have had cars with sunroofs since the 1984, but why would you consider that as an argument for not wanting an automatic option?

The mod to close sunroof on rain is a VCDS mod that some people use. It does not really suit me as I would not on purpose leave the car with an open sunroof. The tilted roof however is much easier to forget.

Yes I can long press the keyfob, but that again I will only do when I know that the roof is open. Also the long press means waiting to see If the roof closes, and it also closes the blind, which I keep open all the time.

 

So many obscure mods have been made with VCDS so why not this one?

Because if Skoda have not included this feature in their firmware (which AFAIK they nave not) then neither VCDS nor any other diagnostic tool can enable a feature that the firmware doesn't have.
