Car Bra for Fabia

Featured Replies

Anybody considered not tailgating? I do 100 M-Way/A-road miles every day without any stone damage on the front.

But then I leave a 2sec gap between myself and the vehicle in front. Oddly' date=' my mpg is consistently around 50 and my brake pads are like new after 20k miles. I don't hang about either

Try it, you might like it :D[/quote']

What do you do when you meet a gritter in front of you m8? :)

back on topic please :D

I just don't see the point - maybe I'm just a grumpy fart! :)

Thats ok, I'm a pretty grumpy fart too tbh, but i could play dot to dot on my bonnet and draw the mona lisa with no problems, so i'm having it painted (Again) and looking to protect it so i dont have to do it again.

Be sure to get the right sort of bra, otherwise you'll look a right tit.

(The lamest pun I could muster)

Will give an update as soon as they are back

Been looking for a while myself and came up with nothing.

I would be interested in one for mine as the motorway miles are taking effect on my bonnet.

I agree, my 29k bonnet looks like it was an 80k one and its all down to my 60 mile a day motorway and cross country commute.

Did you get to speak to your mates missus about this Fluff?

I'm getting a bit desperate for one now!

:)

A clear stick on jobber should be better.

they are great untill you take them off the stones still chip the paint just the clear bra stops it flaking off. remove the clear bra and the paint comes with it.

Fine if you are only keeping car for a short while but not for long term as the clear bra has a lifespan.

Why not save your money and get some leading edge tape instead?

It's what's used in racing applications on the front ends of cars that have no choice but to tailgate! It won't last as long as the proper formed 3M kits, but it's also a damn sight cheaper - 4" wide, 2 metres should easily cover the length of your bonnet and cost about £25.

Cheers for the link.

Agree about the lifespan bit' date=' they go yellow like any clear PVC does after a few years - but not sure about the point you make about the stones still causing chips. Did you see the link in the 4th post of this thread?

[url']http://www.automotivearticles.com/Clear_Bra_3M.shtml[/url]

They shoot a car with an BB gun with and without the film on, and it stops the pellets from chipping.

The only time I can see a danger of this taking the paint off, is if you fit it once the panel you're fitting it to is already chipped. If you fit it to a panel without chips, then it shouldn't be a problem.

PS a similar film to this is fitted either side of my old dear's Audi A6 wheelarches as standard - it's a 2002 quattro V8 so it's a bit pokey - so far no stone chips and no yellowing to be seen...

What about Armourfend?

Someone on SCN had it done a while back, its basically a clear film that gets put over the "vunerable" parts of the car... bumpers, bonnet, leading parts of the wings and sills...

Any joy Fluff?

It's all gone cold .....

I will ask again m8 to see if lorraine will do it (NOT Loz btw) :)

Wow!!

I am such a slob.... mind you my car has been dented and stuff, and the b******s will not pay out :(

My interior looks like it has been hit by a nuclear weapon and the outside looks like it has been dipped in a mud pool..... well upto last Sunday, when I clean the car.... turned out to be red....

Now I figure I should look after my motor better, and to train me up for when I get a VRS of my own :D :D :D

But this whole thread has me like

A 'Bra' for a car !!!! W-T-F mates !!! To say the least I have never heard of such a thing.... its got me quite amused, a car with a Bra.... I see the logic, but I would imagine it will make me feel like a REALLY BIG TIT.....!!!

Thanks all, I needed a laugh   But on a serious note, this women who can make them, may have a market for them :D And though a long time in the future I might be up for having a bra for my car..... mainly coz it is quite a practical device....

Read the full post next time....

I said when i get a VRS I will be possibly interested in one, as I see the practical benefit to one, just still think I would look like a big TIT. But if it saves the paintwork, I am happy!!

As I said, read the full post before you reply... that way you don't look like a TIT when the poster points out your error :P :P :P :P

Maybe you should enhance your ability to say what you mean then, because reading back it still isnt obvious what you are getting at.

I have had a look through the open university website but I cannot see a 'Basic command of the English language for Smart @rses" course

http://www3.open.ac.uk/courses/bin/p12.dll?A02 have a look, they may have an advanced tit course, as you have obviously passed the beginners version.

HTH ;) :P

Ok, you maybe right.... I have been known to be abit vague now and then, and I was in a bad mood at the time of reading your post... due to work. I will appologise for snapping your head off.

I will state now that I will be interested in one of these 'CAR BRAS', when I save the dosh for a Fab VRS, all though I will feel abit silly with one of these on my car, I rather save the paintwork on the car, as it will be my pride and joy. (First New Car) and of course paying outright in cash (Cheque) means I have alot of saving to do and I will do anything to look after my new toy as it were.

I hope this clears up what I was meant to say and that you will accept my appology for snapping at you.
