Need advice on Octavia/Superb Varients

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

I am browsing SKODA Octavia and Superb Petrol version from 2016 onward. Could someone help me figure out which version of Octavia or Superb has Intelegent Light Assist with High Beam Control (HBA) as standard?

and also I like to have 18inch alloy and HID/xenon headlights, tail lights, DRL etc. I think Adaptive Cruise control comes as standard but what about Speed limiter!

looking forward for replies. thank you in advance.

Octavia never came with intelligent light assist, the HBA is a ‘dumb’ system and just does the high beam. 18’s on an Octavia with torsion beam rear suspension (any non 4x4, vRS or model with under 151ps). Adaptive cruise was never standard on any Octavia and is hard to find on the used market. For your spec you will want an L&K as they have the best chance of having those options. There are 2 petrol L&K’s in the country for sale right now, only one has those options. It’s also a 1.8, the 1.4 is surprisingly a better engine. I think you’ll be better off with a Superb if those are your must have options.

Octavia Elegance has this function and so as SEL as standard. both of this variant I drove. I am wondering if there are any other variant that has it with standard 18inch wheel. High beam assist means, automatic high beam. so high beam should come on automatically when it is too dark or raining while you are at roughly 40mph (minimum). it comes on very handy.  I lie this feature. not a lot of car has it.

I think there is some confusion here, Light Assist, as in automatic lights and High Beam Assist for basic on/off activation of the high beam is standard on the Octavia Elegance/SE-L. Only the Superb has the Intelligent/Smart Light Assist which can alter the beam pattern. No Octavia of any specification came with ACC as standard except the SE Tech and FL L&K. It was available as an option on the Elegance, SE-L, vRS etc. 18 inch wheels were also not standard on the Elegance/SE-L, they were optional. Again, vRS and L&K cars had 18’s as standard. The specification you are looking for is rare, you will surely find a few cars that tick all the boxes but you will find more Superb’s that do so and benefit from independent rear suspension, a higher standard spec on the SE-L and  the 1.4 with active cylinder technology which wasn’t on the 1.4 in the Octavia.

High Beam Assist means that WHEN the headlights are on it will automatically switch between dipped and main beam using a camera behind the interior mirror to sense other vehicles tail lights and headlights..

This is NOT the same as Automatic Lights which turns the headlights on depending on the light level using sensors in the interior mirror.
