Update Portal

Featured Replies

Hi All,

still getting this message on the update portal

We are sorry, it is currently not possible to download updates from Update portal. We are working to resolve the problem as quickly as possible. In the meantime, thank you for your understanding.

Sure there should be another new map out now.    is there anywhere else you can get the updates.

It's worth looking at the VW update website here

You need to pretend you have a VW Golf, chose the appropriate year and VW version of infotainment system.

The files are identical to what could/would appear on the Skoda portal - I've been using the VW map update on my MIB1 Amundsen since the Spring and did a binary file compare between the VW & Skoda files, result = identical.

Hello all,

I've just purchased a Skoda Octavia and wanting to double check I've got the latest version on the infotainment system. I'm having issues with the radio changing stations first thing on a morning when it's colder.

This is the unit I have. Is this an MIB1? Do I have the latest version? I've noticed the Skoda portal is down and looked on the VW one but do I need the discover media or discover pro?

My understanding is if it has Sat Nav & volume knobs it is the non pro. The pro is the 9.2” model with menu down 1 side only & touch sensitive vol up & down buttons

From the part number I would say it's a MIB1. Is your car 2015 or earlier?

If you have the maps on an SD card which must remain plugged in then it's an Amundsen (which is what I *think* it is) otherwise its a Columbus.

The car is a 2014. The unit doesn't have navigation, I'm guessing it's a Columbus?

Sorry wrong info

New info

The VW site was being referred to for Sat Nav map updates , not sure it is meant for firmware updates

Just been on and checked with my VIN and it shows there isn't any updates, however I'm sure I've seen people quoting there software version is 0490

As Kental said above, update portal is not for firmware updates, only map updates for systems with Nav.

Have a look in "Latest infotainment version Bolero" thread for info on firmware updates.

The Skoda update portal is ONLY for map updates and radio station logo downloads, not for firmware updates.

Thanks for the update. Just downloading a SatNav upgrade now.
