Auxiliary heating problem

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have problem with my heater.

When trying to start it with the remote it flashes  fast, indicating that something is wrong.

On the dashboard it says “Problem: auxiliary heating”.

The car is a Skoda Superb 4x4 2.0 tdi.

Anyone suggestions?

What are the most common fault with these heaters?

BR

To suggest anything would be a guess at this point, if you are capable I would scan it for codes first, then take a look at it and check the most common things like any connections on the unit, check fuses, check the glow plug resistance is in spec etc.

Thanks for the suggestions, I will try to find a fault code reader.

I had a similar problem recently on a 3.6 SII Combi.

I remotely started it in the morning, then drove to the airport

When the car parked, I switched on the ignition and had the dreaded error message on the maxidot

Trying to activate it both manually with the switch on the climatronic as well as the remote did not work,

error message and blinking light.

The error logs seemed to indicate something wrong with the unit as you can read below

The unit got locked.

But after disconnecting the battery to work on the car for a few hours.

Battery reconnected , it just works.

Thx for the information!

I read out the fault code today, see picture below.

It says in Swedish that the circulation pump is overheated, so most probably I need to change that one.

Most likely it will start if I disconnect/connect battery, but will probably fail after a while.

Planning to change the circulation pump myself.

Have anybody any advise to give?

Is it difficult?

Usually, the sooner the problem is fixed, the less expensive it is in the long run ....

Today I replaced the cirkulation pump, it was no problem.

Disconnected the battery (for 2h) to get rid of the fault codes.

But after connecting the battery again still the same problem.

Does anybody know if I need a computer to unlock the heater?

Or should it be enough to disconnect the battery?

Really appreciate all help.

from the VCDS documentation there are procedures to unlock the heater on other cars.

But as it is the device itself, my guess it would be applicable to the Superb also

as well as other threads.

On my side, got lucky, battery disconnected did unlock it (or maybe they did some VCDS coding on it without me knowing it)

When you manage to unlock it, please let the Superb II community know about it, would be really grateful
