Recall on Karoq 1.5 TSI EVO 110kw engine with 180 ampere alternator - torque issue

Featured Replies

I'm not sure how many cars it affects, but we received a recall notification from Skoda last week for my wife's Karoq SE-L 1.5 TSI automatic.  Apparently there is an issue that too little torque is applied by the engine at low speeds.  This torque is used up by the auxiliary drive (eg. alternator, air conditioning compressor) and too little engine torque is provided for acceleration.  This can lead to poor accelerator response when pulling away and delayed acceleration.  The Safety Recall reference is 24EV - Engine Control Unit.  My wife had mentioned to me that there had been a couple of occasions when she was pulling out into a roundabout and there just didn't seem to be any power.  It's booked in with our local Skoda dealer to be fixed in a couple of weeks' time.

If you have time to read it part of this thread has comments about the 24EV  update and the 24EU update for older MY19 vehicles plus earlier in the year the Q2 update also mentioned earlier in the thread as well:
