Hopefully next term they'll be teaching what "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" actually means...

Love it!!!

Andthe bum i like to (facelift lights only)

I totally hated the front end of my fabia think its the bloody grill, only skoda i like the chrome grill on is the Octy II rest dont look mean enough.

Felicia - Dont like

Favorit... growing on me!

Take it back... front end on fabia is quite mean :D

The Fabia IS ugly. IMO

it isnt!! it's cute!!

lol sorry to me?! heh i know what you mean the felicia isnt my favorit skoda' date=' i really liked the old octavia compared to the new one but it is growing on me. and i agree with the old 130's.

i want to see the finished fabia as i think that might be a nice car...[/quote']

was that a pun? lol

IMO, the Furby starts of looking good at the front and gets progressively worse towards the back. Front is very nice looking, though! :)

Completely the reverse IMHO..:thumbdwn:

The flanks are 'handsome', whilst the front is too high and angular.Square fogs and a blunter nose, slightly lower, polo-ish would look nicer.

That's just my opinion though, don't kill me for it, after all I do own one...:D

The Octy II vRS just doesn't look right to me. The hatch has massive overhangs and the estate lookes like a stretched Fabia. I can't love it no matter how much I try.

 I can't believe you actually wrote this! The new vRS II Octavia looks so much better than the mkI. Its better in almost every way than the old one, it handles for a start, the seats are so much more comfortable, I could go on and on.

The main clincher is that I was lucky enough to go on the vRS "Fuel for Growth" course, and got to drive it as fast as I could around the Bedford Autodrome track (I was then shown how to do it even faster by one of the professionals :rofl: it was so much fun), the mkI is a good car no doubt but there is no way it can match the mkII. They are simply worlds apart, with mkII taking the honours. :D :D

The mkII Estate is also a beautiful car, it looks tough, and also handles well.

My least favorit (pun intended) cars are the two transition cars (in my opinion) the Favorit and the Felicia, they were neither Skoda or Volkswagen just horrible hybrids Yeuch! :thumbdwn:

the estate looks better..... kinda like a mercedes c class estate......

:) The Mk1 Favorit was most definately a Skoda, although the bodywork was styled by Bertone.

Getting back to cars looks..IMO the S110R coupe is the best looking Skoda.

i think the fabia is a really nice peice of design, loads of nice little touches on the combi at the back its got a subtle creas that follos the lights and back over arching to the front, and the front the lights are a nice shape mixing straight lines with smooth curves. very easy to wash! and put your bottle of was on the wipers pad just below the windscreen! nice chunky c pillar and it hasnt aged yet either! so it must be a good sign.

the new octy 2 has a big back end! needs to be smaller and it would be a nice looking motor. the combi is a very nice shape! yum:D

Oh, Loz yeh pun intended;)

Makes me chuckle how Furby owners say their cars are not girly  I am sorry, but all super minis are girly! The Furby needs to be 3 doored imho. I do not like the 5 door thing at all.

I didn't like the Favorit, but I did like the 130 range from the years prior to it.

A friend had a 136 rapid coupe, one of the few affordable rear wheel drive cars of it's day. My word we had some fun in that!

That's nice, Dave

Without wanting to sound like a ricer, how many BHP can you get out of the stock motor with bolt-ons (exhaust, filters, upgraded carb, ignition) and a bit of headwork?

Also, is the engine in the back, am I right in saying?

I see there is a nice looking white rapid coupe for sale on the site, and I am very tempted by it to be honest! When I get back to the UK I was going to buy a cheap MX5 or Mk1 XR2 as a weekend car, I really want a RWD though and the 130s fit that bill

:) You can easily achieve 100bhp with a few mods ie cam, headwork, exhaust, carb ect. Doesn't sound a lot,but bear in mind the most powerful standard 136 motor only had 62bhp. These cars don't need a lot of power to be fun..even the 40 odd bhp 105 Estelle model is a hoot to drive.

Yeah, the engine is in the back..part of why it's easy to have tail happy fun without much bhp! :D

Sorry to anyone that may be offended by me hijacking the thread BTW..I realise that Briskoda is more about the newer Skodas, but I just love the old ones even more!

Likewise, I encouraged him so blame me!

Tail happy fun is one of my pastimes (240hp and a LSD)

:D Well..now I've hijacked it I may as well do it properly!

Here's a few pics of my older models..a few Skodas that a lot of you here may not like...

Is that buggy a one-off? Didnt realise they made the Rapid as late as a J plate, either. Cool.

:) The buggy is a kit car using an old very rusty Rapid as a donor for it's mechanicals. It's called Bugrat and the kit is made by RV Dynamics.

Rapids were made till 1990..this is a 1990 model,but wasn't registered till December 1991.
