Interior lights - existing or malfunction?

Featured Replies

While my Superb has illuminated dials to adjust the air flow, I assumed Kodiaq has the same, but mine has not. But...only mine?

If you’ve got Climatronic set on Auto, then they’re not illuminated.

So, if I change it to Manually, they will will be??? This is going to be the weirdest thing to happen...

If you have VCDS it can be coded

Controller 08 - HVAC

07 - Coding

Byte 11 Bit 6 - Blower Status Display in Auto-Mode active - enable

Thanks for sharing! I will try to activate it.

As an ex-Superb owner I think the OP is referring to the actual rotating wheels either side of the dash mounted air vents.

Not the fan speed LED's in the central rotary knob.

This is an old Passat, but the principle is the same on the Superb...

But no, on the Kodiaq they don't light up.

You said it better than me, those were the items, indeed!

I (idiotically) assumed the automotive industry is moving forward, so already invented things just are simply implemented in new models. But no, I am sure Skoda made a huuuuge cost saving this way, for a +35K euros car...

The same about the missing other options, as the auto rain closing option (available on any Superb) or the possibility to fold the mirrors using the key....

#dissapointedbyskoda or should I say ”Simply (not enough) Clever”

My Supeb II had LEDs even in inner door handles, not to mention all airflow stuff.

Kodiaq has surely done a step backwards.

Indeed, I forgot about those.

When switching from Superb II to Kodi, the dealer mentioned that there are not comparable cars; while Superb is comfort oriented, Kodi offers a stronger approach.

I actually prefer the folding mirror set-up on the Kodiaq. It always frustrated me with my Superb that you had to long-hold the keyfob to fold the mirrors. I just wanted them to fold automatically when the car is locked.

The automatic rain closing feature is also absent on the MkIII Superb, so I think there must be another reason for dropping this feature.

My Kodiaq has the LED interior light package, and whilst the illuminated door handles remain absent, the LED strips in the doors do help to illuminate the interior door handles.

I do not use the auto folding mirrors especially in the winter, as frozen snow and ice mai block the mirrors during the night, and opening the car will force - to break - to unfold the mirrors.

I do feel a downgrade when looking for usefull options (small, but effective) that I use to have in my old 2012 Superb: interior lights were really  great - illuminated door handles, cat eye lights in the ceiling giving a nice atmosphere inside the cockpit, an some other small gizmo's.

Some Superbs can be coded. If you have 4 sensors in rain sensor eye, it can be coded. If two, then not.

Some kind of safety issue for VW.
