Mobil 1 Oil 0w-40

Featured Replies

Can anybody recommend this oil,as i can get some at a good price(

I always swore by mobil 1 tbh. It's fantastic stuff. Even in a £500 motor i spent the cash and got mobil 1 with an OEM oil filter every 6 months (5k to me). Engine wear seemed to be non-existent.

The only thing i found was that for higher mileage cars that hadn't been 'brought up' on Mobil 1, it just didn't have the viscosity to deal with the wider tolerances of the worn engine components. So beyond 80k i swaped over to HPX fully synthetic 10w-60 oil. It's sold by Fiat/Alfa dealers and is cheaper than Mobil 1 too.

 Check out the website www.opieoils.co.uk they give good advice, offer a variry of oils and best of all give us Briskoda members a discount as well.

Don't overlook Fuchs oil. Bad name I know but good oil.

Give the guys a ring for their advice.

I had a Lancia Thema Turbo (215bhp) and ran that for 4 years, upto 110k, and changed the oil using mobil 1 every 6k, and it never gave me a problem, for that I'd reccomend it! I also read, that BMW ran an engine on a track for 100k using mobil1, took it apart and measured the tolorances, and they were all still within factory spec, so they could have sold it as a new engine!!!

Used it in my old ibiza fantastic stuff and if your getting it at £18 pound go for it

Yep It's True!, Actually it was double that mileage at 200k!!!

They also ran a 1990 model car on advanced Formula mobil1 for 1,000,000 miles and it only used 0.4 quarts/1000 miles!
