I've just bought a Karoq SE L 2.0TDI DSG and I love it, but have noticed something odd with the driving modes. If I select a driving mode other than 'Normal' it doesn't stay set once I switch off the engine. The next time I start the car, it has always returned to 'Normal' mode.

 

I previously had a mk3 Octavia and I seem to remember that the modes would be remembered each time I restarted the engine.

 

Any ideas how I can stop it changing back all the time?

Even sillier, select Eco mode and when you switch back on the central screen show Eco whilst the display in front of the driver shows normal Drive mode. 

This has been discussed before, no apparent solution!

You would think that this is a simple software mod. 

Obviously not very simply clever.

I had similar on my Superb Sportline and it needed someone with vcds to sort it. It's been right ever since.

Yep same happens for me, I might be tempted to put in a complaint just to get it noted by Skoda, if anyone has an answer I would love to see it...

Karoq user's guide says otherwise?

The driving mode is only remembered if you have the Personalise Option on your car. This is linked to your key so your car remembers things like driving mode, seat position, etc.

 

This is different from Individual mode where you can set things like the steering wheel weighting, ACC, Air Con, etc which are remembered.

 

The manual (page 242) does say that the Driving Mode is remembered in Individual Mode but it forgets to mention only if you have the Personalise Option.

No, the driving mode starts always in normal mode.

 

This is different to the Octavia, it retained last setting. What is the logic for defaulting back to standard every time on the karoq?

This is exactly my point. My Octavia remembered which driving mode I last had set. Why can't my Karoq??
