Halfords often do 2-for-1 or buy-one-get-one-free deals on winter chemicals around this time of year too.

Have a look here.

I've had this delivered previously for no extra cost but maybe they've wised up now?

Great stuff.  I stock up on this when ECP have a sale on, which is practically every day.  DFS and ECP obviously subscribe to the same business model 😄

I don't find the all-season stuff very good. Winter temps are -5C and lower quite regularly anything that doesn't at least go down to -10C seems to freeze up.

I picked up some halfords -10C stuff on offer recently. 10l ready mixed for £7.50 I think.

I also picked up 5l of genuine BMW -70C stuff from Amazon for £18. Which I forgot about and bought that 10l from Halfords

I've bought this stuff before and it lasts forever as you can dilute it a lot for summer, but you have the option in the winter to decrease the dilution. Nothing worse that getting all that Salt on the windscreen and the washers frozen up.

I just refilled my car with a batch of Ultimate Speed concentrate diluted at 1:4 :)

its my last 5litre jug of it though... only about 2litres left now for diluting. Bought 4 of them last time they were on special!

37% off at eurocarparts.com this weekend.

Funnily enough when I was in collecting my screenwash from the local ECP branch, the guy behind the counter said that the online discount was only of any use if you were getting stuff delivered.  If doing collect at store (as I was), you can just rock up and buy it at the "discounted" price without even having a discount code!

Not sure why, perhaps branches have sales targets and online sales don't count, so they try to get people to buy in-branch rather than online in future.  Useful to know for the future though as the branch is literally a max of 5 mins from my work.  I could have saved over a day's wait for it to be "delivered"  by just gong to the branch at lunchtime.

Just ordered some of this https://www.eurocarparts.com/p/triple-qx-5l-35c-tqx-screenwash-545776712 I used the code further up the thread and got 4 x 5l of -35c screenwash for just over 10 quid after discount.  I've used the triple qx -15c stuff previously and it was decent, so this lot should keep me going through the winter.

What do you think to this stuff please, worth buying?

Kind regards, Alec

Yep, seems decent.  As I said, I've used the triple qx stuff before and had no probs with it icing up, so didn't expect any issues with the stronger stuff.  Clears the muck off the screen and doesn't ice up in the jets.  Winter has been fairly mild overall, but we had a few nights with temps of -10 or lower, no probs with icing up when diluted to a sensible concentration.  The own brand rubbish you get in morrisons and asda would've been a slush puppie, if not a solid lump of ice.

Watch out though which version you are buying if shopping around, they make different ones e.g. -7,-15, -35. and -70.  The -35 and -70 can be diluted a lot and still function well in our relatively mild winters, but you couldn't do that with the -7 stuff.  The price has gone up a bit though, it's over 4 quid for the -35 grade now at ecp, but hopefully a bit of googling will turn up a discount code if you're having it delivered.

I keep an old adblue 10l container which I have filled with dilute mix.  It comes with a handy pouring spout which makes filling the screenwash reservoir easy and 10L lasts a good while. It is sitting ready for a quick top-up when doing the usual checks each week.

Thanks. I picked up a couple of the 5l bottles of the Triple QX All Seasons concentrated a year or so ago when it was flagged on here. Done me fine since then, so this sounds like a suitable substitute.

Kind regards, Alec
