Yeti 1.2 small service

Featured Replies

Me again - silly woman - so don't have a go pulease!!  Changed my wonderful diesel Yeti 4x4  for petrol Yeti 1.2 2017 and it seems OK.  Doesn't seem underpowered.

Now done 4,000m and due service and MOT.  Service £179 + MOT £39 + BRAKE FLUID £60.  i thought an inclusive service was just that.....so what's the £60 brake fluid for?  Anything else I should do whilst its there?  First reg was 1st March 2017 and understand last service last January.  Thought I would have it all done now together and know its OK for another year.

Any thoughts?

Brake Fluid change is due at 3 years then each 2 years by Manufacturers recommendation, so due now.

Well 3 years from the PDI, that should be 3 years from being built really, if 3 years does matter.

Some Techs might test it for H20 and not change it.

For £179 and what they call a Interim or Minor service i would expect the check done.

On an only 4,000 mile 3 year old car i would want the Brake Fluid changed.

What was done at the last Service, just Oil & Filter and some high cost to have no extra parts supplied?

Maybe expect a new Pollen Filter, ask for it,  if paying the ridiculous £179 for an Oil & Filter Service and a Health Check & expensive Free Wash & Vacuum.

They might try to sell you a A/C service.

If they quote Brake Disc wear, advice replacement, ask the original width, and what they measure the actual wear as being...

Thanks - I just do the recommended service and pay up!!  Does seem a lot of money for what they do - but presumably they put it on their diagnostic machine to see if everything is running properly?  So far, having the dealer service has done me well - my Primera was 17 years old and still going strong with dealer servicing - just brakes and tyres etc.  My Yeti didn't have a problem in 4 years - diesel.  This one is petrol.  Fingers xxxd
