Upgrading Columbus to dab

Featured Replies

Hi, is it just a case of buying a Columbus DAB unit, plug in a suitable antenne and off you go??

I have a non DAB unit. Do like dab, but need to justify the cost and hassle.

Essentially, yes. Just swap the units, connect a DAB antenna and away you go. There will be some coding to do with VCDS to make sure everything else works correctly but it takes a few minutes.

I have a DAB Columbus if you want one comes with free fitting but you'll need to supply and fit your own antenna.

What's the cost?

Take a look in this post for an idea of cost. I may have others in, but due to personal issues I'm not keeping up to date in what's going on in the shed these days.

What coding is needed? Thanks.

Depends on the configuration of your car. The car needs to be coded correctly (which it should be as you already have a Columbus) and the new Columbus needs to be coded so that it matches the cars spec and configuration.

So it's just the coding on the Columbus  that needs changing.

Yeah, that's about it
