Hi Guys,

 

Currently carrying out the MFSW retrofit on my wife's 2015 Mk3 Fabia as her's didn't come with it. 

 

I have the correct steering wheel with buttons on them 3V0419091L. However, I need to know which airbag harness I need to carry out this retrofit. Last time I was advised was C0971584C. Again I would like to confirm this before I order the part.

There is a another airbag cable i have found which is fitted in Fabia III

Good, this BCM support MFSW lower versions not. I use cable  5E0 971 584 A I think is similar to this 3V0971584A. Unfortunately I have BCM 6C0 937 087B an is no possibility to retrofit MFSW. If you need details look on wirer web side.

Thanks Greeniak I bought the 3V0971584A so just need to wire to J519 Module. 

The question is do I still need to run wires to J519 module? As I checked my steering column and I could see that I have the 2 pins for MFSW

you need pin A13 on BCM unit. without it you must change BCM to highter version

So as per your tutorial I need to run 2 wires ?

1. LIN pin 3 to J519 PIN13

2. PIN 4 to Fuse 14

 

My BCM is 6C0 937 089B as per Greeniak supports MFSW

Well good news, my steering wheel is working  Access to BCM is total nightmare 😞 To get access to the plugs you have to unplug them and then remove BCM and crawl underneath to get access. I think next time i do this will remove seats.

 

Anyways I did the VCDS changes and selected the option for MFSW in 19-Gateway Can Byte 1 > Bit 0. So no errors reported after replacement however have one issue where the Front Assist button on steering wheel doesn't work? All buttons work apart from this one. 😕

 

Any suggestions?
