Disable start-stop via 12.1V threshold does not work

Featured Replies

Hi.

when setting the 12.1V setting via VCDS, the start-stop is only deactivated in some occasions. But not all. Thereby said that sometimes the engine still stops.

does anybody have an advice of how to disable (or memory) the start stop?

2019 Octavia 3. 2.0 TSI DSG

On cars with a BCM firmware version ending in AC or AQ (mainly 2019 or 2020 models)  disabling Start-Stop has been disabled by the firmware.

On cars with BCM firmware version Q or earlier it still works.

Well. It does work sometimes, where the screen says that start stop is disabled (because of the voltage, I assume). But other times it does stop the engine.

There is a plug on the negative terminal of the battery.

There is a thread running on another forum that says if you disconnect that it disables the stop start ( it is something to do with the voltage monitoring).  Several people seem to have tried it successfully, but the odd one where it hasn't worked.....

I haven't got round to trying it on mine ( because I usually remember to press the stop start button when I first get in the car....)

... because the battery monitoring system has checked the state of charge of the battery, the ambient temperature and the current consumers and decided that it would not be prudent to stop the engine at the moment.

This is the stop/start system working normally, it is not disabled.

Yes, agree.
