Well Happy With Scout’s Carrying Ability

Featured Replies

It kept the cost down massively, when I discovered that my old Thule Aero roof bars and foot pack fitted the Octavia, then added my old Thule folding J-Bars. The only cost was having to buy a few extra coach bolts as I’d lost a few.

Brought my 17’ 8 sea kayak and my gf’s slightly shorter one over from Durham to Kirkcudbright yesterday and it fit lovely, without too much rear overhang. Left them on the roof overnight and took them down to a friend’s place on the coast this afternoon for my first paddle, using the car as my base.

The car’s dirty from the journey yesterday and the state of the local roads here at the moment, but here are a couple of pics.

Dirty!?

Scout's are supplied dirty, it's a standard fitment 😂

Carried a euro double mattress in my estate vrs today. Had to bend it a bit length ways to get the width in but the length fitted in no bother with all doors and boot shutting nicely.
