Superb S3 Winter wheels, which ones to pick ;)

I was prepared to go to superskoda for some 'oem' wheels, the casseopias.

I'm pretty useless at this stuff, picking what might look 'right'.

I did email a few uk skoda part shops for wheel prices, but after a fortnight, no joy, no reply; I am accounting for xmas.

So then I thought to look at generics. There are of course hundreds... and about half the price, all the way up to and beyond OEM options.

What from this lot do you reckon would look 'ok' on a silver sportline plus?

I was thinking just black, for ease, there are a few 'cut' half black/silver options. The initial plan is to run as just winters, but actually if the right look can be had, why not all year and treat as disposable. Leaving the original ones in mint condition.

I'm pretty much picking anything black, this would be for a brilliant silver sportline, so lots of silver and black on show already...

I think the first one is slightly more in keeping, what do you gurus think?

Having run winters for years I put all season on the summer wheels and am seriously considering them as an all year option.

If you need true winters and wheels I have Alpin6, steel and trims, so feel free to drop me a PM.

If you want alloys, then I forget the brand, but there is one that all the Germans use for their winter alloys.

The biggest reason I went for steel was actually their resistance to pot hole damage vs alloys, but also that they can be repaired if you impact a really sharp pot hole that would crack an alloy.

Of your two options I prefer the second, but I am certainly not a wheel guru 😂

I've only reached up to the alloy option as I don't think they make 18" steel.

I think a 17" will fit on the 272, bigger discs than a normal superb.

I have the 18" winter tyres, just need to pair them to a wheel, or start a fresh on a set of 17's.

The second is going to be far easier to clean I think, well at least once a year...

Looking for a set of 18’s at the minute myself for winter use, and found Caffyns Seat-Skoda Parts to be the best price by far for genuine rims.

Compared to some of the prices I was getting for genuine wheels from dealers here, caffyns are looking about 60% less. I actually rang the dealership and asked for their parts dept, to make sure the online site wasn’t a scam. They also quote a delivery figure So cheap they have to be taking a loss. I’m not complaining though. 😂

I've managed to source some 18s of Golf R last year for criminal money, had them refurbed at work and got some 225/45/18 falken winters on them...just another option maybe to look within VAG group

That is a good idea... I'd been wary about 2nd hand wheels but I guess so long as they are round ;) Does not even matter if they have chunks missing already... pre worn in ;)

I ordered the Zeniths from Caffyns on Thursday at £190 a wheel. That way I have a genuine rim with no ET issues. Just need to source tyres no when they arrive.
