Hi all would the 1.6 felicia gearbox be better on the 1400 16v conversion.

or will the ratios give it poor performance. 

The 1.6 gearbox would be slightly better for your conversion, with its "longer" ratios, as the AFH engine has quite a big difference in power from a 1.3. I'm not qualified to say whether your engine will fit onto the felicia gearbox though as I have never tried that swap. There is a thread on here which documents the swap, you should ask in that topic. 

If I remember correctly the 1.3 gearbox has a better final drive ration for the 1.4s  revvy nature, all well discussed on here if you search.  My AFH  retained the 1.6 box but I don't think its was ideal.    

It depends what you mean by "better".

For performance, I'd go with post-facelift 1.3/50kW MPI, it's shortest one (~2700RPM at 90km/h). But 1.6 has few modifications for better strength (reinforced case, insert on 3rd gear) which might be handy with strong engine.
