Rear wiper always on

Mine gets really dirty - not sure why yours stays cleaner.

Well his details show he's not got a Yeti.

Just because there is sufficient moisture on the windscreen to justify having the windscreen wipers on, that doesn't necessarily mean the rear screen is also going to be wet.

I really prefer not to operate my wipers across a dry or insufficiently wet screen, this is why I have turned off the 'Auto Rear Wiper' function.

Each to their own, I like to dictate when the rear wiper operates as in this regard I know better than the car.

That aside, the odds are currently stacked towards a faulty wiper stalk.

I find that the other way round, rear wiper does not operate when front wipers are on intermittently and by the time they are on on speed 1 or 2 I find the rear wiper needs to be turned on manually every now and again.

If speeds are fast enough to require regular wiping then the turning on of the rear wiper (with the Auto Wipe feature turned off) works well enough for me.

If it isn't then I prefer a quick push forward and pull back of the stalk for a single wipe as required.

I found that the apparant randomness of the Auto Rear Wipe feature meant the rear window was getting wiped when not needed, and wasn't when it did.

Like I said, just like paint colour, the preferred frequency of the wipers is quite individual, so it is good having the levels of adjustment Skoda offer.

Saying that, it often surprises me how many cars I follow that have their rear wiper on in the dry. I can only assume they rarely use their rear view mirror 😂
