Mk1 octavia vrs electric windows

Featured Replies

Hi. Went to open car the other day and found all windows fully open. Started car and closed windows and all okay. Till now. This morning all windows open again. Cant close them. I tried everything. Also alarm light on drivers door is on permenately. Anybody got any ideas. Thanks in anticipation Mick

Probably the microswitch on the driver's door lock. Especcially if you use the key rather than a remote lock/unlock. Do a search on door microswitch on here and you'll probably get a guide or two come up 👍

Also try the key lock.

Close all the doors, (do not use central locking) put the key in the drivers door and turn to lock that door, all the windows should go up. Then unlock and then lock once more to put the windows back up.

If that doesn’t work try the above post.

Are they going straight down like they're hitting something like an auto-safe feature? Another suggestion is to take off the battery for the night and then try again in the morning.

Other than that it could be a faulty central convenience control module  (sits behind the drivers dash), maybe someone with a little more knowledge will come and give some more trouble shooting ideas.

I was thinking cccm too...

If it was just one window, id be thinking it maybe the safety stop cutting in.

Or else its the safety/emergency windows opening for exiting - but that would then indicate an alarm fault or again... cccm issue..

All windows go up and down together. They go up and down just as they did when operated seperately. Central locking fob does not lock or unlock drivers door. Always had to use key in lock which does operate all locks.  Can try disconnection of battery overnight but not tonight.

Think a scan with Vcds is in order, and looking at that door. I’d replace the locking motor which has probably died. Check the wiring between the door A and B too see if there is any broken wires.
