Octavia VRS cambelt change?

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Sorry, I know it must have been asked before....but..

64 plate VRS which is 5 years old next month, which has 62,285 miles on it.

When does the belt need changing please?

Also....

It is going in next week due to a start up warning saying " start/stop system error" accompanied by 5 seconds of rattly engine noise, since then been fine though. My local garage ran a diagnostic which reported;

"Cambelt position sensor implausible. Central electronics B147A18 remote key 2 voltage too high"

Anyone heard of this, could it be related to the start/stop issue?

Thanks

Chris

According to this it's 130k miles with no time limit.

99% sure all vRS' are Chains (have been since the Facelift Mk2) and have no service schedule (except for inspection).

Diesel vRS's have belts.

Did my vrs diesel at 5yrs\72k. Mainly due to waterpump issues experienced by a couple of people I know at this sort of mileage.
