Jase - just saw the bump in the group buys thread for this - didn't know it was still running :)

Did you get any further with answering the Ibiza Mk4 question? From what you said above it doesn't look hopeful? I'd obviously be interested if it was possible, and also thinking that you'd probably get a decent update from SCN and SCC for these?

I've not had any piccies back yet, of how the wing / headlight bolts setup works. I've remembered that a colleague has a basic 51 plate Ibiza. I assume this would be a Mk4. I might have to get a real good look at it.

I can take some for you if you like? I would have thought a 51-plate would be a Mk3? I certainly know a guy with a 1.8T 51-plate Mk3, but perhaps some early Mk4s made it onto that plate as well - I'm not sure...

Curious how much spanner twirling is required to install the strut? Thanks - Steve

A couple of 13mm spanners is needed. I'm trying to source a 10mm / 13mm spanner, as you need 10mm for the two wing bolts, and 13 for the ball socket bolts. I'm going to ensure that the sockets will be ready in the ends of the lifters, as its one less job to do. That job involves pulling back a clip with a flat bladed screwdriver, which is easier for one person to do en-mass. So you'll get the kit probably with the bottom bolt done up already on the bracket, so you just stick it in, and undo the lifter out the bonnet end, and bolt up the top end, using the 2 washers which will be supplied too.

With it all setup, I doubt anyone would spend longer than 10 minutes fitting it. :)

Not read whole thread so sorry if repeating - how quickly does it fly up with the carbon fibre bonnet Jason?

Now we just have to wait for it to get sent :P :P ;)

It's still awaiting spraying, but I imagine it will absolutely FLY up with it on. Actually thinking about not bothering with a lifter, or somehow getting a much weaker strut from somewhere. My lifter kit is only one of the "make it up as you go along" brackets, so I'm happy to butcher it and the kit as I see fit. With a normal bonnet being in excess of 25kg and my new bonnet being around 8kg.... Hmmm. :D

OK - there is an issue with the supply of the ball socket bolts sadly. The actual brackets are pretty much done and awaiting the painting. I had one bracket put on my car today as a kind of "make sure it fits" for the main bracket, and it was totally spot on. Actually I wanted to keep it and leave my tatty experiment one there. :o

So, sorry for the slight wait, but once these bolts are all in, it will be about there. :) *phew.

 Slight........

;):D

What's another week or so between friends (+ considering it's been 'a while :P' hehe). No worries, just hope it's gonna be fairly soon as I'm only at work for 2 more weeks this year ;)
