Octavia VRS (RS) Resonator Delete

Featured Replies

I know this topic has been discussed at length before, but I took the plunge this weekend and deleted the resonator from my 2016 Octavia VRS 2.0TSI DSG and thought I'd share the results. Essentially the results are far better than anticipated and highly recommended. Slight increase in exhaust volume, deeper tone and perhaps most significantly truly impressive DSG 'cracks' and 'pops'. Not bad for £80 and totally reversible if car is leased etc. My car is the 220 version of the VRS and the DSG crack was virtually inaudible before the res delete; now they can be heard inside the cabin and quite loud from outside.

I have pictures of the process and a short video of the results if anyone is interested.

do you have a link for the one you bought? I have a non DSG but would be interested in this. does the resonator need cut out and the delete pipe sleeved in?

No link I'm afraid, I got a local customer exhaust shop to do the work. Only took about 1. 5 hours. The resonator is clamped on one side from stock so was just a case of cutting and clamping on the other side 👍 dead easy.
